I watched the first space shuttle lift off some 30 years ago. We ran outside and I saw the fuel tank etc burn up as it hurtled back towards earth after being de-linked from the shuttle.

Interesting post! It brings back some old memories for me, because when I was a teenager I lived in Titusville, Florida. From the house where I lived I could walk down to the Indian River and look across the water and watch the space launches. Boats on the water, pelicans flying. That huge Florida sky! I live up north now and, like you, I often reflect on how my life has changed over the decades since then, and all the different people I have been in the course of my zigzag life.
ReplyDeleteHow magical - the most obvious and groundbreaking of new technology with ancient wetlands in the foreground! We’ve both moved north and the skies have closed in - an interesting parallel. Thank you for sharing! :-) C
